About this listen

A heart-pounding Scottish detective mystery full of suspense

A serial sex offender. Two driven cops. One whole mess.

DC Craig Hunter of Police Scotland's Sexual Offences Unit. Ex-Army. Back doing the work that drives him, that makes a difference. Private Sean Tulloch. Squaddie. Monster. He charms women. Moves in, dominates them, abuses them. Under investigation by the Sexual Offences Unit and the Royal Military Police, his partner Paisley Sanderson receives a threat. Soon she's in hospital and Tulloch is in the wind.

Now, Hunter and DS Chantal Jain must hunt Tulloch down before he can strike again. Where is he? How did he know they were investigating him? A simple trip to Portugal soon grows out of control. Will Hunter take down Tulloch before his already horrific crimes escalate? Are the Army Police really on their side? Is DI Bruce really hunting a missing child or do his intentions lie closer to Chantal? Can Hunter and Chantal overcome their very different but very similar demons? And, in Sean Tulloch, has Hunter finally met his match?

The Hunted is a fast-paced police procedural, full of action and suspense that will grip you until its breathless conclusion.

I have been listening to these Police Scotland books back to back for the last few weeks and I have to say each one improves on the last. They are keeping me awake into the early hours as I end up in the ‘just one more chapter’ zone. I get so invested in the plot and the characters that I need to know at the end of each chapter what happens next and how on earth the baddies will be brought to justice. Ed James is brilliant at weaving procedure into the storyline so you are able to see how what the police want to do against what they are allowed to do and the budget constraints force certain actions. Also there is the issue with Chantelle and Craig. I won’t give anything away as I hate spoilers but that situation keeps you totally guessing also. What can I say about the narration of Angus King that hasn’t been said before. All of the adjectives that apply have been used up - outstanding, superb, talented, great accents etc. Ed James certainly tested him with this book. So many different accents needed that Angus must have had to dig deep into his repertoire. He succeeded as he always does. Congratulations to both Ed James and Angus King. I am now away to start book 11 - Heroes and Villains. I can envisage more later night listening.

Another heart stopping thriller

Another superbly written book, a wonderful plot, with some really hard to beat villains. Of course Angus King does narrates the story into more vivid life.

Keep them coming.

Have every download of Police Scotland series but this one I've obtained a refund for. Way too much focus on foreign police procedures & character narrative relying on hours of needless content . A whole novel based on Hunter completly detracts from the excellent Cullen series. Personal view of course. Bored after chapter 3.. Hey ho.

Bored sensles..

I got bored of the constant repeating story line, bolshi constable who can't follow orders and who would have been sacked by chapter 4. First time I've given up with a police Scotland audio but life's too short. sorry let's hope future books are back to normal entertaining standard

Not a patch on previous stories
