Meet Adrian Mole, a hapless teenager providing an unabashed, pimples-and-all glimpse into adolescent life. Writing candidly about his parents' marital troubles, the dog, and his life as a tortured poet and 'misunderstood intellectual', Adrian's painfully honest diary is still hilarious and compelling reading thirty years after it first appeared.

Critic reviews

"We laugh both at Mole and with him. A wonderful comic read, that, like all the best comedy, says something rather meaningful." (Heat)

I think most people that will love this will have been an Adrian mole fan in the eighties. I have recently been given a DVD of the tv series and it's like a time warp.
I was a massive fan back in the day so it's great to find it on Audible. My eleven year old daughter finds it funny too. My older teens think it's horrendous and it's confirmed everything they thought they knew about the eighties (mediaeval).
I like the narrator too. He captures Adrians views on life very well.
Get this if you're already a fan or if you were a teen in 1980s Britain.

Classic 80s. AM is my childhood hero.

Loved this growing up, brought back my youth and would have given more but the narrator was so.... hard to believe and couldn't help me feel the books character.

I had of course heard of this book series over the years but being born in the late 80's it had passed me by. Then as I became a teacher I read about it and then picked up a copy from our library. I found it utterly hilarious. It resonates with me, even now, what teenage life was like and even though it referenced the ear a lot it was written so well that I still found it relatable and relevant. The performance was brilliant, a teenage voice perfectly enhanced but the grunting idioms they make. Highly recommend this. You're never too old to enjoy it and if you have kids it may help to remind you what it was like to be 13!
