  • Gamecock Pod Live: Wednessday Wonderings June 3rd, 2026
    Jun 3 2026

On today's show I wonder about a number of topics. Is Kevin Schnall the next head baseball coach at South Carolina? If he is, when will he be announced? If it is not him, is it WVU's Steve Sabins? Kansas HC Dan Fitzgerald? How about a wild card no one has heard about? I wonder if men's Basketball coach Lamont Paris is a dead man walking, or if the group of players he is bringing in caan win enough games to make it to the expanded NCAA Tournament? Finally, I wonder how Dawn Staley manages the minutes of a 15 player roster that is arguably the deepest and most talented group of players in the country. Who starts, who heads up the 2nd Unit? what is the growth for Ali Tournebize, Agot Makeer, and Joyce Edwards? How do freshemn phenoms Jerzy Robinson and Oliviyah Edwards fit in? How about chloe Kitts and Ashlyn Watkins return from injury? Will they be back to playing at an elite level? All these and more questions answered and discussed on today's show.

  • Oliviyah Edwards Officially Signs, WBB Ranked No. 1, Football Recruiting Kicks Off Visits
    Apr 29 2026

MIchael Sauls joins us at the top of the show. We discuss South Carolina WBB recruiting haul from the transfer portal, and the spring signings of two concensus top 5 prospects in Jerzy Robinson and Oliviyah Edwards, along with Texas WBB transfer guard Jordan Lee. How ridiculous the talent and depth is on this roster, the many combinations that could be used. The ascent of Agot Makeer in the NCAA Tournament, brining back All SEC Forward Chloe Kitts, and 6'3 rebounder, dunker, and exceptional talent Ashlyn Watkins. What their roles could be, and how the recent additions has moved South Carolina to the new pre-season Number 1 ranked team in the Country. We also discusss UConn WBB Geno Auriemma's Final Four outburst, how he doubled down on a lie, and lost the respect of many.

Alex Jones from TheBigSpur.com joins me and we discuss South Carolina Football recruiting, with the Gamecocks expected to host at least 11 prospects beginning Friday on an early official visit weekend. We look at the number of offivial visits, which currently numbers 36 or 37, and how South Carolina usually hits on 50 percent of their official visitors. I went with 15, but we could see around 18 commitments before the end of summer or the early signing period, based off of historical trends. We breakdown each of this vistors, and where South Carolina sits with each going into the weekend, and Major news to end the show as my good friend of 25 years, Tony Morrell is retiring from TheBigSpur.com and Gamecock Associate Atheltid Director for Communications, Steve Fink, aka "The Finker" as The HBC and I refer to him as, announced that he will be retiring at the end of June.

    Apr 1 2026

I open the show with the stats for South Carolina WBB in this NCAA Tournament, the rare air that Dawn Staley's program is in, with only Uconn and Geno Auriemma having more than six straight Final Fours. After that, Brice Hedgecock, the co-host of the Gamecocks Basketball Only podcast joins the show. We go in-depth on South Carolina WBB, their path to the Final Four, the rarified air to whcih Dawn staley has ascended with this program, the talent on the roster, the talent that is incoming, and the matchup with UConn, and the UCLA vs Texas picks. Mar 26 2026

we lead the show with the latest headlines on Gamecock Sports, then Jordan Kaye from GoGamecocks.com and TheState.com joins the show. We take as deep dive on the dismissal/resignation of Paul Mainieri, Monte Lee and the staff reorganization, and examine some of the names associated with the position. We then move to Gamecock MBB and Lamont Paris. With one assistant coach already dismissed, what other staff changes are on the horizon? What will his NIL budget be, and who will help him rebuild the roster? A little bit of Spring Football talk, and then I end the show discussing the Gamecock WBB path to The Final Four, the discrepencies in regional scheduling, and South Carolina Women's Basketball Fatigue given that neither Dawn Staley is a finalist for The Naismith National Coach of the Year, and Raven Johnson, the SEC DPOY, is not a finalist for National Defensive Player of the Year.
