Take a deep breath, Mama. You don't have to be the Savior of your Easter weekend.
If you are currently running a million miles a minute—mentally calculating how many plastic eggs you still need to stuff, trying to figure out if those dress shoes still fit, and making your third grocery list of the week—this episode is your sanctuary today.
As Christian moms, we are incredibly good at preparing the things for a holiday, but in the middle of the "Easter hustle," we often completely forget to prepare our hearts. We slip into what I call the "Striving Heart"—taking the weight of the entire weekend onto our own shoulders, trying to perfectly curate every moment, and hustling to prove we are "good enough" moms. The result? We end up exhausted, resentful, and completely disconnected from the Savior we are there to celebrate.
In this special Holy Week reflection, we are hitting pause. We are taking our eyes off our own frantic striving and fixing our gaze entirely on the unhurried, deliberate posture of Jesus.
In this episode, we will cover:
-
The Exhaustion of the Striving Heart: Why manufacturing a "perfect" holiday leaves us feeling empty and disconnected.
-
The Posture of Jesus (John 10:17-18): How Jesus resolutely and purposefully walked toward the cross.
-
The Unmeasurable Love of God: Remembering that Jesus didn't endure the cross so you could run yourself ragged, He willingly laid down His life so your striving could finally end.
-
A Prayer of Surrender: A guided, quiet moment to lay down the pressure and stand in awe of His relentless love.
Mama, if the ham burns, Jesus is still on the throne. If your kids throw a fit in the church parking lot, the tomb is still empty. Let’s trade the hustle for surrender today.
Scripture Mentioned in this Episode: John 10:17-18
