Welcome to The Highland Bullpen Baseball podcast and our second episode on Scottish Baseball History!

We really didn't expect to find baseball in our Highlands over 100 years ago but that was the consequence of the Great War. It did lead us to a discovery that there may have been baseball in the Highlands back in the 1800s but that's for another time! Sixteen minutes to find it all out here.

Little did we expect the extent of the Tartan Army takeover of Fenway Park during the FIFA World Cup. Bagpipes, a march, thousands of fans, songs, joy, beers. What was it like to be there?

Only way to find out was to get Tartan Army foot soldier Steven onto our podcast and talk us through it all. You can feel the fun of the evening through his words and enthusiasm.

Even better he is an NFL fan so we are working on his conversion! The Red Sox might have lost the game but I think they won many fans and enhanced theor reputation through their engagement with the Scotland fans. A heartfelt thank you to them.

Richard and Alan catch up to chat Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers.

Rich retains his hopes that the Mariners continue to grind away and get back to form amidst a series win over divisional rivals the Astros. Mucg depends on a continued uptick in last seasons stud, Cal Raleigh.

Highlander Alan doesn't see the same hope with the Tigers, injuries, suspensions, errors and loss of form brings a reality back to is this the real Tigers despite the big off season signings. Que Sera Sera.

And then we had a chat about VAR in Scottish football and how American sports seem to manage video refereeing so much better. (We saved the more heated part of recent discussions for beyond this recording....)
