Sent by her father Hattusili and mother Puduhepa, the (anonymous) princess came to Egypt and took up the rank of King's Great Wife. Truly interesting, and a lot of complex information, names, dates, and culture explained by an expert in a very approachable way. I was listening on another site, and when getting audible I checked this podcast was here because otherwise I would have had to keep my other subscription to keep listening to this podcast! Highly recommend

If you can tolerate 'history' being delivered in broad cartoonish strokes, this sophomoric survey is adequate at best. Sadly, the author conveys a two dimensional understanding of historical and cultural concepts. The endless references and man-baby analogies to video games, fantasy novels and Hollywood CGI films is tedious and distracting. It's clear why he's not spending his career as a more accomplished academic rather than walking the reader through his favourite video game with child-like simplicity. Multiple recurring mispronunciations, undisguised gender bias (i.e. women are women, men get to be people), complete ignorance of historical facts and childish digressions combine to produce a disappointing and often embarrassing result.
