  • Worst referee decisions, football traitors and the Bhoy Boydy?! | The Warm-Up Mailbag
    Mar 16 2026

Kris Boyd of Celtic? Sutty the Ger? Can you imagine a world where The Warm-Up hosts pulled on the shirts of their greatest rivals?

Both Kris and Chris Sutton are asked to contemplate playing for the other side in this month’s Mailbag, with Boydy looking for a certain Henrik Larsson to do his running.

Joined by James McFadden to answer your questions, the team also discuss football friends (and enemies) and football traitors.

They also look at how this current, high-flying Motherwell side compares to other great SPFL teams and if we will ever see a team like St Johnstone, do another cup double.

Also in this month’s Mailbag the team answer whether or not they fancy a return to coaching and say what referee decision still haunts them.

  • Russell Latapy on Brian Lara, scrapes with Dwight Yorke and memories of Sir Bobby, Mourinho and AVB
    Mar 12 2026

Raised by Sir Bobby Robson and playing as one of the stars in a Trinidad and Tobago team which included a young Dwight Yorke, Russell Latapy was largely unknown when he first arrived in Scottish football in 1998.

Over the next decade with Hibernian, Rangers, Dundee United and Falkirk, the little playmaker would prove to be one of the Scottish game’s great entertainers and an inspirational talisman for his clubs.

Joining Chris Sutton, Kris Boyd and James McFadden for the latest Big Interview on The Warm-Up, Russell tells the comprehensive story of his life, from his formative years in the Caribbean, to joining Porto under the great Sir Bobby.

He talks of his encounters with a young Jose Mourinho and Andres Villas-Boas in Portugal, of his move to Scotland and time playing under some of the game’s great characters, including Yogi Hughes and Dick Advocaat.

The interview also covers his friendship, nights out and managerial partnership with Yorke, a possible return to Scotland and includes a carnival invite for Boydy, Sutty and Faddy.

  • Schmeichel SNUB for Old Firm rematch, Falkirk for the cup and Faddy foils a pile-on | The Warm-Up
    Mar 5 2026

The Old Firm prepare to dance again this weekend – this time in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.

On a Warm-Up cup special, regular hosts Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd are joined by James McFadden to look ahead to the weekend’s ties.

For the second week running, Ibrox again provides the venue for the Glasgow derby and, as the team explain, this is turning out to be a bigger game for Rangers manager Danny Rohl than it is for opposite number Martin O’Neill.

The team also discuss Celtic’s selection issues, who starts in goal and exactly how they will line up as their manager tries to figure out the reason behind their slow starts and late rallies.

Looking at the other ties, Faddy foils a pile-on as Chris and Kris take aim at an under-performing St Mirren team. They ask if the Buddies have taken their foot off the gas following their League Cup win, threatening a remarkable double.

The team also smell an upset at East End Park, where Dunfermline face Aberdeen, discuss Falkirk v Dundee United, and give their match predictions.

    Mar 2 2026

Where does the William Hill Premiership stand after another extraordinary weekend and the latest Old Firm derby?

The Warm-Up team also look at the managers and how they are coping with the pressure of the title race, asking if Danny Rohl really needed to get in Celtic’s business ahead of the match.

And, with league leading Hearts in focus, Chris asks if their manager could be the weak link in the title run-in?

Also on the agenda is “the best football side in the league” and how far the Steelmen can go before their manager inevitably moves on.

  • Hosts RAGE as they rank Faddy v Fergie and McGinn v Robbo | The Warm-Up
    Feb 9 2026

If you ever needed evidence of the quality of the SPFL, today’s Winner Stays On delivers.

This month, the team debate the top Scottish players to have played in the SPFL - who have never played for one of the Old Firm clubs.

The team were spoiled for choice as they mulled over the SPFL era (post-2013) and picked out stars who have gone on to shine in the English Premiership, in Serie A and beyond.

Who do you think are the best Scottish players to have starred in the Scottish Premiership, outside of Celtic or Rangers? Is there a glaring omission from the list? And, if you do support Celtic or Rangers, who is ‘the one that got away’?

Have your say and send your questions or talking points for Kris Boyd, Steven Naismith and Chris Sutton in the comments below.

  • Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland LEGEND Sir Kenny Dalglish on his GOAT career - The Warm-Up
    Feb 2 2026

The King has arrived on The Warm-Up, as Kenny Dalglish joins Kris Boyd, Steven Naismith and the man he signed for a British transfer record as this month’s big guest.

In a comprehensive interview, which starts with early days playing in youth teams in Glasgow and launching his career in Junior football, King Kenny talks about what drove him to become arguably the greatest player Scotland has produced.

He talks candidly about growing up in the Lions’ Den, alongside the players who won the European Cup for Celtic, and about his relationship with legendary manager Jock Stein.

His move south to Liverpool and how it unfolded is discussed before he talks about his time at Anfield and playing in a great Liverpool side.

His surprise promotion to player-manager is covered as is his time in charge at Liverpool, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers where he sealed another historic title triumph.

Not surprisingly he has a few stories about Warm-Up host Chris Sutton, including how his record signing fancied himself as centre half and squared up to Ian Wright!

He talks honestly about his return to Paradise and what went wrong and his ‘move’ to Rangers as ‘Director of Football’.
