Isaac is back, and the sects are going to war. Leadership puts him in leading from behind a desk and negotiating deals with the Hua Family. That is, till another sect's mountain falls, and Isaac hurries to investigate. He takes Mei to investigate the fallen mountain. But even Mei isn't enough to stop what the fallen mountain brings.

Heavy is the head who wears the crown. That goes double for the dragon king. Zach is wrapping up the end of the school year, trying to juggle his new independent study, where Sabrina and the dragons teach him magic while also being the king of dragons, a sitting member of the Philly Council, and a good mate to six. But the dragon king doesn’t sleep, not when Silverwing Mercenaries has a case from the council. Vampires have had some change in leadership in Philly, and trouble is brewing.

When the FBI prepares to head down to Brazil, Zach gets tapped to join them. Things aren’t going to plan though. Geists are being created and weaponized around Philly and even drawing the attention of the military. To solve it, Zach needs to go down to El Dorado and convince them that he’s not like the dragons that came before him and that they need to help him solve Aphrodite’s grand plan.

Back in the game, Ajax, Missy, and Sky make it to the human capital of Tyren only to find themselves on trial for the dead merchants. Putting them on trial, the king of Tyren has enough awareness to know that players are different than his townspeople. He tasks Ajax to forge a party and conquer a dungeon plaguing the catacombs. But first, Ajax needs to fill out his party. He needs a great team if he’s going to become a professional gamer at the upcoming conference.

Darius and the village of Hearthway have prepared for the winter and even thrived in the middle of it. But as their leader, Dar needs to look to the future, to spring and the war that comes with it.

Sarah has some confessing to do. Meanwhile, Ajax is faced with more and more things crossing between the real world and inside the game Legendary Rule. He's forced to confront the idea that the world of LR might be just as real as his own.

Winter has come, but Dar won’t be able to rest just yet. An emissary of The White comes through Hearthway headed toward Bellhaven to investigate rumors of their treatment toward the ancient races. While entirely true, Dar has already taken care of those responsible and follows Karn into Bellhaven to observe and further his own goals.

Isaac has one last step to reunite with his family. Politics aside, it is everything he could have hoped. Only he won’t allow them to define his life. Despite their wishes for him to rest and raise a family, trouble springs anew. He isn’t one to let things go when one of his women is in trouble. Isaac sets off on one last mission against the wishes of his family—only to find more than he could have ever expected. The fate of his family rests in his hands. If only he can put all the pieces together and come out on top of one last adventure.
