Known as the "Big Book", the basic text of Alcoholics Anonymous has helped millions of people worldwide get and stay sober since the first edition appeared in 1939. Opening chapters articulate A.A.’s program of recovery from alcoholism - the original Twelve Steps - and recount the personal histories of A.A.'s co-founders, Bill W. and Dr. Bob.

A.A.’s how-to manual for staying sober in everyday situations, this widely read booklet demonstrates through simple examples how A.A. members throughout the world live their lives to the fullest while staying sober one day at a time. The first edition of Alcoholics Anonymous was published in April 1939. It rapidly became known as the “Big Book” and launched the AA Program that has helped millions of people around the world get and stay sober. Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. AA On Air is a forty five minute radio broadcast airing every four weeks on Saturday at 10.15am. The programme is often an actual AA meeting attended by recovering alcoholics, although other readings and talks are included.

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous is an incredible book. Since 1939 millions have read it to find a path to sobriety and more. The history of where the 12 steps came from will help give a deeper understanding to all that this book has to offer. Our goal will be to demystify what AA is like especially if you’re a younger person struggling with drink. Within this podcast we will reveal what it's like to be in AA meeting by inviting an amazing young person who has got sober within AA to share their story. We’ll also have a discussions about the unique challenge younger people in AA face and show how we overcame these hurdles with the help of the vibrant community of sober recovering alcoholics in AA.
