As Alex and J return to Wyvern Academy, all hell breaks loose. Gone are the days of taking notes in class and pretending to be normal students. I've met Magnus, the man who instigated the attack on my guild, and rather than fighting him, I’m helping him. He’s shown me the truth about Nexus and left me reeling. Now, to return home and see Eris again, I'll have to complete the hardest job I've ever considered. Journey to Aldrust and steal their most prized possession.

Alex and J have achieved the power they sought at Wyvern Academy and come out alive after facing down their first demon. Their success will mean little when they face their own limitations, though. Both heroes strive for even greater heights as the annual tri-school tournament looms ahead. Everyone is hoping that Wyvern Academy can unseat Leviathan in this international brawl, and they will do everything they can to win. But some lines are simply not meant to be crossed.

Recovering from the ups and downs of the Leviathan Global Tournament, J and Alex return to a much different Wyvern Academy. Long gone are the days when terms like "First-Year" or "Fourth-Year" meant something. Now, only skill and Ki mastery matter as our heroes take their next steps on the Path of Ascension. Cultivation and combat application will become all encompassing as the world's best battle academies transform their top students into frontline soldiers.

After the excitement of the midterms has died down, both Alex and J are looking forward to their vacation. The happiness they find is all too fleeting. Alex is whisked off in the middle of the night, heading for a series of challenges that will push him to his very limits. J accepts his new role as an eager student...until he's forced to contend with a rival from his past. Can the two overcome their mounting obstacles and emerge as heroes of Ascension?

Everything is falling apart. Magnus is hunting Eris, and even the gods fear him. As if that weren’t enough, our criminal dealings have finally caught up with us. The Merchants Guild are coming to settle all accounts, and we’re deep in the red.
