Kennedy, the Democrat nominee, took place on Monday, September 26, 1960, in Chicago. The televised debate was moderated by Howard K. Smith of CBS. In 1938, British statesman and soon-to-be Prime Minister Winston Churchill published his book Arms and the Covenant. It was published three months later in the US under the title While England Slept. In 1940, future President John F.
