Transported from her normal life as a waitress, Sally finds herself in a terrifying new world where Monsters fight Players to the death. But which one is she? A System error means she's been split between both, crossing the line between the soulless zombies created by the System and the people brought here by the mysterious Architect.

After two years of no answer to who killed his family, joining the Organization and becoming a Hunter had brought Eric Redd nothing but misery and pain. But when an alluring demon calling herself Pearl inserts herself into his life with the promise of helping him get what he wants, he finds purpose to put himself in danger and grow more powerful. With the stakes rising and Hell itself ready and willing to grind him into paste, he has to rely on his pact-bound demonic patron, Wight, to help him survive.

In a world in which Players fight Monsters to the death for loot and experience, Sally has managed to survive as a half-Monster/half-Player glitch in the System. With the help of her fellow Unique Monsters, she gained acceptance from the System, and they forged towns of their own in the Forest area, allowing them to live in peace without the constant threat of Players. And if there's any trouble, Sally can eat their brains. That's always fun. But as she heads for the second area to defeat the System and bring about more peace, Sally finds even bigger problems plaguing the world.

A half-Monster/half-Player glitch in a System in which Monsters and Players are meant to fight to the death, Sally has just woken from a coma in the Wastelands after defeating the Architect who created it all. She's now liberated two areas of the game world from the soulless, zombie-creating System, allowing Unique Monsters to live in peace. With her sidekicks—Humphrey the glitched skull/Druid; Theo the rebellious vampire/Death Knight; Norah the mummy; and Lucius the emoji-speaking demon—at her side, Sally's working to complete Keystone Quests and climb to Level Twenty.

When professional magician Max is guided through a portal by a mysterious book from his past, it makes sense that he's classed as a Magician in this game-like fantasy world. As a workaholic and a loner, his career has been his life thus far, so why wouldn't it continue to be? But then his Soul Merge fails, and the System decides to find a compromise, classing him as something weirder: a Demonic Magician. Armed with a card deck of new tricks, his showmanship skills, and the power to summon demons, Max is ready to fight his way through this realm of pink slimes, monsters and opposing Players.

Former stage magician Max has been appropriately classed according to his prior profession. Unfortunately, a failed Soul Merge has made him a Demonic Magician. Now, with a trail of monsters and corpses left in their wake, Max and his party—consisting of strong-willed elf-on-a-vengeance-quest Ren and talking-grizzly-bear Wolf—have made it to the second area of the System-created world of Othea. And they're up against the perpetually elusive threat of the Crimson Shadow gang and its mysterious leader, Lady in Red.

Having slain his way through some of the worst that the Lower Hells had to offer, Eric now sets his sights on the next step of the ladder. Unfortunately, one does not simply walk into the Middle Hells. With his loyalty to the Organization fraying at the edges and his own power growing alongside Wight, the noir gunslinger is getting too big for his boots.

Max was never meant to be a hero. Twisted by demonic power and hounded by the corrupting effects of Crimson Shadow gang's ruthless leader, Lady in Red, he's somehow still standing. Alongside his Party, he's carved a bloody path through the System's mindless NPCs, felled Crimson Shadow members, and nearly repaid his token debt.

With his demonic patron back in fighting form, Eric Redd was becoming something of a rule-breaker. Humans weren't supposed to survive Hell, but he had endured and now thrived there. With every completed venture in the overheated nightmare that was the Lower Hells, he came back stronger. More powerful. Juggling the terrors of oblivion plus his new found family, he can't keep himself busy enough to avoid the destiny he has begrudgingly accepted. Not only are powerful demons still trying to invade Earth, but there are unexpected foes waiting in the wings to end him.
