It is with great pleasure that we are able to retell the stories, first published as Forty Delicious Years, of 40 varied travelers who have Murni and Murni's Warung in common. We initially compiled these recollections in 2014 on the 40th anniversary of Murni's opening of Murni's Warung in Ubud, Bali, the first international-style restaurant in Ubud. We have renamed this volume So Many Delicious Years and Murni has added a number of recipes. We are pleased to mention that Forty Delicious Years won the prestigious Gourmand Award in 2019.

Evelyn Amdur, a hospice social worker, began to write these stories midway through her career, collaborating with her daughter, Shelley. Many traditional cultures have a custom of "death songs", which rest on the idea that at one's last moment, one somehow sums up the essence of one's life in a phrase or a song. This rendition of my encounters is a simple, pared-down telling of every paranormal encounter I have ever had - all 40+ years' worth. Since I'm extremely private, putting myself out there is not easy for me. As far as proper grammar goes, please bear with me. I’m a simple Southern girl from the USA, and the way I speak and write might not be proper, but it is me. I did work with an editor to make it more intelligible, but I was reticent about having my Southerners' style removed entirely. My prose may not sound correct at times, but that’s just who I am.
