During the 1950s, young Jessica—Southern born but “being Yankee raised”—spends Christmas in the small town of Galilee, Georgia, in the company of her Great-Aunt Kate, two other aunts, and a cousin. During this relatively brief visit, Jessica is subjected to full “Southernization” by the entire family.

She fought through many trials and tribulations. She loved the fame of modeling, but she continued to be trapped into modeling in the nude. She was offered many videos for huge funds, but she turned them down. She was tricked to meet up at certain events, only to learn that they involved sex. She stayed focused and used her ambitions to remain sophisticated. She did everything in a sophisticated manner. She was offered free clothes and gifts in order to oppose her body. She was hungry not for the money, but to be good being her.

There is a lot I did not share for many reasons. What I have shared is my experience, strength, and hope. My experience—The past does not dictate who I am, but it has taught me that I am strong and to never give up! It has made me the person I am today. My strength—Everything that God has allowed me to live through is nothing more than a miracle. My hope—To continue to live life on life terms and whoever hears this will know that they can recover too. Even when your story is more real than you could ever imagine, your story is something you own.
