In the five years since the downfall of Malcolm Blackheart and his dark mistress, Lathwi has led a life free of human complications. Now two old acquaintances intrude on her solitude. Pawl has come in search of help against an infestation of ghosts, while Luke bears dire news of dragonslayings. Forced into the human world again, Lathwi begins a journey of re-discovery, stumbling onto a plot to revive dragonkind’s ancient nemesis. She withstands sorcerous attacks and an onslaught of demons, but without her mother’s help, she knows she cannot defeat the evil that threatens to consume the world. The question is, can she return to Taziem’s mountain in time to prevent an apocalypse?

Anscar Vonier, OSB (1875 - 1938), was an abbot of Buckfast Abbey, England (1906 - 1938). He came from a large family, where his father was a farmer, who also ran a brickwork. After a number of years, the family moved to Rissegg, where Martin attended a nearby school and became an altar boy. In 1882, monks who had been exiled from France purchased the site of a former monastery in Devon. In 1888, Vonier was one of the youths who were recruited for the new abbey.

I had reached the top of the stairs when I heard a small gasping cry from a room towards the back of the building. "Shall I kill the dog, Mr O'Neil?" A cold voice asked and my heart fell. "No Sean. We need her to ensure our host's further co-operation."
