Aliens on Earth

It was not like looking for a needle in a hay-stack. It was like feeling for a needle in a hay barn wearing gloves and a blindfold - that’s what Steven told me. He was talking about the search for extra terrestrial life, an impossible pursuit until two aliens, yes two, landed in Paris.

Alison measured her years in decades. Ten years gaining a double PhD in astrophysics and engineering. Ten years travelling the world from Dark Skies sites to large telescope research units. Two years teaching at a boys boarding school. Two years that felt like 10, until aliens landed in the quad outside the chapel.

"They landed in California, in Sequoia National Park. See Blake over there,” Jasmin looked to where a group where locked in a heated discussion in the large board room. “They are deciding what to do. Houston is involved and NASA, and the military, and everyone, really.” “Hold on! This is my discovery!” Jasmin shouted. Why had they left her sleeping? She had spotted the aliens first. Now they had landed, and she had missed it.
