All the while laughing at the expense of our beloved tropes. Because that is what villains should do, shouldn’t they?

Hi, I'm Jackson Blackwell. Professional bad guy, minor god, and most importantly, the Shadow Master. I'm the multiverse's first, best, and… ahem, only, villain advisor. I slither into other gods' universes and do what i do best: make their villains better. For profit and personal power, that is. I'm a villain after all. Sadly, even the infamous Shadow Master can get double crossed. Trapped in a horribly generic fantasy realm and left to die, I must use my skills and wits to exploit the rules, mock genre flaws, undermine authority, and win the day.

Jackson Blackwell, The Shadowmaster, is in over his head this time. After his last adventure, where he tore fantasy novels a new one, Jackson has to deal with the repercussions of angry gods, angrier conspirators, and the wrath of his pregnant girlfriend! Thanks to a godly decree and a crafty clause, Jackson has been banished from his home. And the only universe kindly enough to take him in is one infested with comic-book-style superheroes and supervillains.

Jackson Blackwell, the Shadow Master, is back and lo, the multiverse shall tremble. Why? For someone dared to kidnap his daughter. A standard villainy consultation in a sci-fi dimension turns tragic when a space pirate sneak attack leaves Jackson stranded on a remote planet. Worse, the pirates took Evie. Worse still… he’s stuck with Randy! Hmm, is that worse? Eh… doesn’t matter, because Jackson will use his devious and deadly tricks to escape, assemble his team, and find those responsible.

The time has finally come for Sophia to enact her vengeance against one Julian Jackson Blackwell. The name of the book is Villains Defeat, after all, and it is a story of team building, betrayal, plots-within-plots, and a how-to guide for toppling an empire. So, yeah, we’re kind of riffing on “the heist” genre in this one.
