About this listen

After the betrayal at Isstvan, Horus begins his campaign against the Emperor, a galaxy-wide war that can lead only to Terra. But the road to the final confrontation between father and son is a long one - seven years filled with secrecy and silence, plans and foundations being formed across distant stars.

An unknown history is about to be unveiled as light is shed on the darkest years of the Horus Heresy, and revelations will surface that will shake the Imperium to its very foundation....

Slowly going through the Horus heresy series and this was a cracking book full of stories from lesser known legions and yet to feature yet

Great spread of story’s

A collection of stories that are easy enough for people with a general knowledge of the 40k universe to follow. The stories all happen in the starting years of Horus officially turning against the emperor and the impact that has. Other then that they are not tied together in any solid way.
Probably not a "must read", but I am glad I did.

A good mix

Some are quite good and entertaining while some are a bit more for lore/context. The last two are specially enjoyable.

Good collection of short stories

The short story format is great. Usually focuses on a few characters so it’s easy to keep track and remember names etc. A couple of the stories were harder to listen to because of heavy breaths on part of the narrator, this made it a bit more difficult to focus for me. Still, overall a great experience.

Love the short story format
