I really loved this addition to the DCI Grimm series, Within a few minutes of reading or audio listening you are transported deep in to the Dales, uncovering mysteries with some really lovable characters. I now simply have to visit the place, try some of the scenic walks, sample the local beer and food…cake and cheese though? Surely not!😂

As an incomer to “God’s own country” over 70 years ago I have really appreciated the story not being told with a terrible fake Yorkshire accent and with just the right amount of dialect to make the stories come to life. The characters are brilliantly drawn with tastes of the wonderful Yorkshire humour.
I can’t wait to settle down with the next of Harry’s adventures.

I love listening to the accent (beautifully done by Aubrey Parsons) just as much as the story. I’m looking forward to listening to book 8 and getting to know the characters even better.

Just a brilliant set of books. I have enjoyed every one so far, some more than others, but enjoyed nevertheless.

I loved the storyline and the diversity of characters ,some complain of lack of local dialect but we do have a cosmopolitan police force so you would get different accents.
Great narration ,great story .
I am reading my way through this series so it’s off to next book for me and I highly recommend as so far my audio versions have been brilliant narrator brings the characters to life. 👌
