Zac was alone in the middle of the forest when the world changed...

The whole planet was introduced to the multiverse by an unfeeling System... or God. A universe where an endless number of races and civilizations fought for power and dominion.

Zac finds himself stuck in the wilderness surrounded by deadly beasts, demons, and worse. Alone, lost and without answers, he must find the means to survive and get stronger in this new cut-throat reality.

With only a hatchet for his weapon, he'll have to seek out his family before the world collapses... or die trying.

I liked this first book alot, Its always great to find a series that stands out against so many other books that are the same old carbon copys of each other. The "Game" mechanics are intresting and there's no constant 5min long stat read outs, The story and world building is good and is very engaging/enjoyable and dose stand out from others in the genre. Another great thing is there's no dumb romances Or Harems, Just one dude being awesome in the wild. Even when there are town building mechanics later on in the story, As another review said it stays true to heart and never drags or feels boring. Overall really great, I'm looking forward to the next book!.

Really enjoyable, Definitely recommended!

well built world without realms of explanation - they get added as you go along. it's definitely a saga though as it finishes mid story with lots of loose ends. Looking forward to the next book.
Oh, the American version of the British accent from northern England made me laugh!

Can't wait for the next installment

The writing isn't amazing. The story is compelling enough to get through it but it can grate. Also it lacks the social/political pazazz that He Who Fights With Monsters or the Cradle series have. It can be a bit American, male-centric too, which is a bit painfully cliché for the genre. Despite this though, I still really want to delve into the mysteries of the world and see what heights Zac will reach, and I keep my fingers crossed that the later books will show improvement (when I get my next credit)

Interesting but

This series is a little strange. The first book is extremely badly written, almost as though it has no editing whatsoever, even by the author. Difficult sentence constructions and numerous misuse of adverbs, pronouns and nouns, It just does not flow and the unfortunate misunderstanding of the meaning of several words suggests it it's not worth pursuing. I almost gave up and consigned it to the rubbish bin. Yet, I am so glad I stayed with it. Despite the difficulties of writing, the storyline is very enjoyable, not at all predictable and very imaginative. I persevered to the end of the first book and was very glad I did. The second book continues the enjoyable and quite complex storyline, and is significantly better as far as the writing is concerned. It's almost as if an editor was used on the second book. From there, each book gets better, There is still the misuse of words but it improves immensely, as does the writing style. I have enjoyed it so much I have listened to the whoie 10 volumes published in audio so far, even if the latter half of volume 9 was rather unnecessary and a little tedious. I am eagerly looking forward to the next volume.

A VERY MIXED BAG BUT OVERALL GOOD
