Summary

Primarchs Book 8.

For long years, the White Scars have fought for the Imperium, bringing worlds to compliance. But when a new project, to embed psykers in the Space Marine Legions, seems likely to come to fruition, Jaghatai Khan must decide if he will comply....

Listen to it because Chris Wraight returns to the Khan of Khans with a tale set at the height of the Great Crusade and showing the momentous decisions that, in some ways, led to the darkest events of the Horus Heresy.

I rather like the character of the Khan as portrayed in other books.

This one I must admit I struggled with, hard to get into.

The narration by the great Jonathan Keeble is of course superb, just the story itself didn't do anything for me. Perhaps simply the writing style or the speed of the novel being different than I expected.

Its ok

I would have preferred the story to be more on Jagathai's background before the Imperium, but I did enjoy the part about the beginning of the legion on terra and the dialogues of the primarchs. I would rate this mid tier of the primarch series and if you like the White Scars, this is still a "must listen".
Narration was great, as in pretty much all the 30K (and 40K) books.

Mid tier for the primarch series

a look at a mostly not seen legion , that would do well to have some of the "limelight".

A great read with some nice little nods to the other Scar books. Chris Wraight has done an outstanding job fleshing out the Whute Scars Legion again.

fantastic.

... All the other Primarchs tend to be gits, in some shape or form (either evil, deceitful, unstable or pompous) - but the Khan remains noble. This was a great listen, and hopefully Warhammer will produce more books about him. Recommended.
