Got used to him eventually but felt annoyed that the narrator had changed! I really liked Rupert!

Just wanted to write a short review, to counterbalance the many "awful narration" comments out there. Personally, I think the new narrator did an excellent job, and I find quite unfair comparing him to the previous one: of course he is a different person, and of course he has a different voice, a different style, and a different interpretation; this said, I enjoyed his narration as much as I enjoyed the one for the previous books!

5th in the series and it still keeps getting better and even darker.
This book is mainly set in the same day so it was nice to feel that the characters didn't have time to recharge their batteries after a fight so you feel for them all along the way. The story in the series is getting darker with some gasps and shocks along the way, won't say anymore.
I found the change of reader a strange thing to do and to start with I thought I wouldn't get along with him....BUT to be fair, he did a really good job and he kept the voices of the different characters pretty close to the ones we already knew. Don't let the change of reader put you off because this book pulls you in to the point that you can't stop listening to it. Brilliant book and already downloaded the next one.

What did you like about this audiobook?

The plot develops with interesting twists. Plenty of suspense, and imaginative new magical ideas. Having heard the first four, I was keen to meet up with the the friends I had come to like, and I wasn't disappointed. I had a hard time taking breaks in my listening! Anxious about the change of narrator, I found Brian Bowles surprisingly easy to enjoy!
