About this listen

The discovery of a young woman’s body drifting down the Thames, her hair adorned with flowers and her legs wrapped in blue silk like a mermaid’s tail, presents Lord Jason Redmond and Inspector Daniel Haze with a puzzling new mystery. Who was she, why was she murdered, and what led the killer to leave her body displayed this way? Was it an act of love, meant to make the victim appear beautiful in death, or was there a more sinister reason?

As Redmond and Haze delve deeper into her life, they learn that the victim harbored shocking secrets and had crossed paths with a feared kingpin of London’s criminal underworld.

Will Redmond and Haze solve the murder before the killer strikes again?

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and was so looking forward to Murder of a Mermaid. As usual the story does not disappoint. Mt issue is with the change of narrator. In previous books Lord Jason Redmond had a strong and easily identifiable voice which made the dialogue between himself and Danial Haze easy on the ears. Personally, I find the lack of distinction between Redmond and Haze a disappointment.

I really like this sries

Although the previous narrator of the Redmond and Hayes books (Wendy Wolfson) is not the best at men’s voices, I find the narrator of this book (Alex Lee) very poor. I have enjoyed the series so far but due to the narration this one is very disappointing.

Disappointing narration

Why change narrator? this one is poor, no difference in the characters' accents etc. very distracting as the voice is too husky.

enjoyed this one but...

I dont know what someone was thinking when the narrator was changed and no one checked if the new narrator could do a half way believable American accent, it has been beyond awful to listen to, a cross between a Russian with a speech impediment and a drunk pretending to be an American it has ruined this story and whilst the rest of the characters voices are good Jason is a main character and should have been much better voiced.

Another enjoyable story
