    Sweet Misery
    • 2 oz White Rum
    • 4-6 Trader Joe’s Italian Blood Orange Soda (Or make your own with blood oranges, simple syrup and club soda)
    • Add rum to an empty highball glass, fill the glass with ice and top with the soda

    How to Kill a Friend
    • 1 1/2 oz Mezcal
    • 3/4 oz Campari
    • 1/2 oz Sweet Sherry (Pedro Ximenez)
    • 1/4 oz Cointreau
    • 1 1/2 oz Pineapple Juice
    • 1/2 oz Lime Juice
    • 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
    • Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice - preferably crushed or pebble. Garnish with a mint sprig.

    On the cocktail side of things, today Matthew is drinking a Betty Carter while Ben is drinking a Some Days are Diamonds (Some Days are Stones). Recipes below

    Betty Carter
    • 1 1/2 oz Bourbon
    • 3/4 oz Sweet Sherry (Pedro Ximenez)
    • 1/2 oz Amaro Nonino
    • 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
    • Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass.

    Some Days are Diamonds (Some Days are Stones)
    • 2 oz brandy
    • 2-4 oz Lemon-Lime soda (Shasta Twist for that local flavor!)
    • 1/2 oz dark rum
    • Add brandy to an empty highball glass. Add ice nearly to the top. Top gently with the lemon-lime soda and then float the rum on top. Do not stir! Let this cocktail evolve as you drink it. (You can pour the rum onto a spoon and let it trickle into the glass or you can carefully pour the rum onto a protruding piece of ice.)

    • 1 1/2 oz White Rum
    • 1/2 oz Felernum
    • 3/4 oz Lavender Syrup
    • 3/4 oz Lime Juice
    • Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake until chilled and strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.

    I Love Lamp
    • 1 oz Añejo Tequila
    • 1 oz Demerara or Dark Rum
    • 3/4 oz Banana Liqueur
    • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
    • 3/4 oz Lime Juice
    • 1/4 oz Agave Nectar
    • 4 Dashes Aromatic Bitters
    • Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel, pineapple leaves, or any other tropical trappings you want.

    On the cocktail side of things, today Ben is drinking a For Baby while Matthew is drinking an Irish Godfather. Recipes below.

    For Baby
    • 2 oz Gin
    • 1/4-1/2 oz Lavender syrup
    • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
    • Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir to desired level of dilution. Double strain into a rocks glass with a single large chunk of ice. Garnish with a lemon twist.

    Irish Godfather
    • 2 oz Irish Whiskey
    • 1/2 oz Amaretto
    • 2 Dashes Orange Bitters
    • Orange Twist for Garnish
    • Mix all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with a large cube. Twist orange peel over drink and drop in the glass.

    Annie's Cocktail
    • 2 oz Pink Gin
    • 3/4 oz Lavender Syrup
    • 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
    • 1 dash Angostura bitter
    • Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake until chilled. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.

    Velas Sour
    • 1.5 oz Blanco Tequila
    • 1/2 oz Mezcal
    • 1 oz Amaretto
    • 3/4 oz Lime Juice
    • 1 bar spoon Agave Syrup
    • Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a Collins Glass with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange slice or brandied cherry.

    • 3/4 oz Green Chartreuse
    • 3/4 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
    • 1 oz Lime Juice
    • 1/4 oz Agave Syrup (optional, to taste)
    • Shake ingredients with ice. Double strain into a chilled coupe or over a large cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and/or a brandied cherry.

    Chocloate Smoke
    • 1 1/2 oz Mezcal
    • 1/2 oz White Chocolate Creme de Cacao
    • 3/4 oz Lime Juice
    • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
    • Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake until well chilled and double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with chocolate flakes.

    • 2 oz Blanco Tequila
    • 3/4 oz Lime Juice
    • 1 oz Watermelon Syrup (or 3/4 oz simple syrup and 4-5 watermelon chunks, muddled)
    • 1/4 oz Cointreau
    • 4-5 Basil Leaves
    • Shake all ingredients with ice until well chilled. Double strain into a chilled rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a watermelon chunk and/or a basil leaf.

    Carajillo Puesto
    • 2 oz Licor 43
    • 2 oz Espresso
    • Add Licor 43 and ice to a rocks glass. Layer with espresso.

    Watermelon Sugar
    • 2 oz London Dry Gin
    • 3/4 oz Watermelon Syrup
    • 3/4 oz Lime Juice
    • 4-5 Basil Leaves
    • 1 Dash Cherry Bitters
    • Shake all ingredients with ice until well-chilled. Double-strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a basil leaf.
