When Jesus left the earth, he could’ve given humans any gift. He had risen! He had been given authority over all things in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. He was in his glorified body. In his resurrection, he was revealed as the savior of the world. He could’ve given us anything, and we would’ve cherished it forever. But, as he ascended into the heavens, he chose to give us one gift.

God told Adam to have dominion, be fruitful, and multiply. He promised to bless Abraham for generations to come. Jesus came so that you might have abundant life. Do you see the pattern? God constantly tries to upgrade man’s existence. He wants us to thrive. But, sometimes, we get stuck “surviving”.
