I stopped a demon-possessed warship and saved a kingdom. Surely a quiet semester at magic school isn't too much to ask? Apparently it is. A demon queen from my war days has started haunting my dreams, and she's got plans for the portal to hell sitting right under Stoneway Academy. The paladins say everything's fine. The headmistress says the ancient tree keeping the demons sealed is perfectly healthy. Meanwhile, I'm waking up smelling like brimstone and watching corruption spread through the school's roots.

What it didn't work for was the Guild of Villainous Foes, the premiere bad guy organization on the planet!

When keeping the world safe from horrors from beyond the veil, you have to expect the unexpected. Like the mayor and her coven of witches trying to recruit your girlfriend. Or the new drug on the streets turning people into mushroom-infested monsters. Or the FBI working overtime to cover up half a cornfield going missing. But, oh well. Keeps life interesting, if nothing else.

For not only does he have to organize a rite of fealty, where the various powers of the Grimm Valley swear loyalty to him and his house, but he must fend off a bevy of sometimes murderous brides eager to become the mistress of the castle.

Gather a bevy of beautiful supervillainess lovers, and even get a cute mad scientist living in my basement. So no way in hell am I just going to sit back as one of my villainess lovers gets framed for murdering a superhero!
