Hi, I’m Ashanti, founder and host of the Get Free From Anxiety podcast. For years, I suffered from major postpartum anxiety, that ultimately became chronic anxiety. I would open my eyes to a racing heart, avoid eating any foods that triggered stomach problems, and had panic attacks multiple times a day. I tried everything from breathing techniques, to exercise, even meditation! But nothing I did gave me the freedom that I was searching for. Then, one day while googling medications for anxiety, I remembered something: God never meant for me to live like this! From that moment on, I knew that if I wanted to be free, I needed to partner with Him, revive my faith, and start renewing my mind.

God showed me His plan for peace, and I’ve been living in it ever since. Now, I’m sharing it with you.

    Okay, let's be real for a second. You didn't ask for anxiety. It just showed up one day and decided to move in like a roommate nobody invited. And if you're anything like I was, you've spent way too many days wishing it would just leave you alone.

    The good news? You actually have the power to get rid of it. And in this episode, I'm walking you through exactly how to do that through four steps, all rooted in the Word of God, and honestly so practical you can start today.

    Here's what you need to understand first: anxiety is driven by your thoughts, and your thoughts are repetitive. Your brain has something called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) (I like to call it the office manager of your mind.) It takes in whatever you feed it and keeps handing it back to you. So if you've been feeding it fear and panic and worry, that's exactly what it keeps producing. But here's the thing, you get to decide what goes in.
