Your brain has something called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) (I like to call it the office manager of your mind.) It takes in whatever you feed it and keeps handing it back to you. So if you've been feeding it fear and panic and worry, that's exactly what it keeps producing. But here's the thing, you get to decide what goes in.
