Die drei haben Lust, mitzumachen, entwickeln aber schnell ihre ganz eigenen Ideen zur Gestaltung des Films. Bald hat Marina gar nichts mehr zu sagen.

Ein doppelter Regenbogen und dunkle Wolken ziehen über der Insel Maotou auf. Alle machen Ramana dafür verantwortlich, denn er hat versehentlich ein Tamburin zerstört. Yann, Zoom und Auru werden beauftragt, eine Opfergabe zum tiefsten Punkt des Ozeans vor der Insel zu bringen, um den Hai-Gott zu besänftigen.

Der jährliche Schwimmwettkampf zwischen Maotou und den Nachbarinseln steht bevor. Die beiden Favoriten können aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht am Wettkampf teilnehmen. Nun richten sich alle Hoffnungen auf Papa Tuanaku. Aber damit droht das große Geheimnis von Papa Tuanaku aufzufliegen. Yann bietet seine Hilfe an und Zoom natürlich auch.

Papa Tuanaku will seinen Schiffsführerschein machen. Deshalb bricht Onkel Patrick mit ihm zu einer Übungsfahrt auf. Marina begleitet die beiden und gibt Papa Tuanaku viele gute Tipps. Derweil sind Yann, Timeti und Auru für Unterwasserfotos unterwegs. Hilferufe von der Jacht des Gauners Van Krook schrecken die drei auf und sie schleichen sich auf die Jacht.
