Zoey sells tacos next to a bookstore that doubles as a bar, but her quiet life in the one-stoplight town is turned upside down when a dead body is discovered near her taco truck. When Zoey and her friends emerge as the leading suspects in the investigation, she knows she has to do something. She has too many secrets in her past to let the investigation continue.

After Zoey is forced to take on a new identity, she heads to Dublin, Ohio to help U.S. Marshal Ray Stark with a murder investigation involving his close friend. Ray suspects the murder is part of an elaborate art heist and is confident that Zoey–now Kiera Glass–has the expertise to crack the case.

Intent on restarting her food truck business, Kiera settles into the charming Georgia town of Thompson, where she spends her days browsing the bookstore and lunching with friends. When a bizarre discovery suddenly interrupts her carefree days, Kiera and her new friend, Sid, find themselves in the middle of a local mystery. Kiera and Sid soon find themselves immersed in the cozy community, complete with its delectable food and intriguing residents, as they attempt to uncover the truth about the death of a local hero. Accident or murder?

When Sidney Marsh’s peaceful Saturday is interrupted by a call from Detective Wallace from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, she finds herself in the middle of a front-page murder case. A prominent businessman has been killed, and the murder was recorded on his phone, which should make for an open-and-shut case. But the more Sid and Detective Wallace learn, the less everything adds up. After an arrest is made, Sid is convinced Detective Wallace has the wrong man, so she enlists the help of her friend, Kiera, to uncover the truth.

When Sidney and Kiera’s historic house tour is interrupted by a dead body, the investigation begins. After Sid uncovers details of Henshaw House’s haunted past, she’s convinced a ghost is to blame. Kiera remains doubtful that their main suspect is a specter and decides to launch her own investigation, focused on suspects who still have a pulse. While Sid enlists the help of a medium and a ghost hunter to reveal the secrets of the house’s spirits, Kiera relies on Marshal Ray Stark, Detective Wallace, and her own mother to help her uncover potential motives for murder.

As Sid, Kiera, and Marge head home from a relaxing beach vacation, they get caught in the outer bands of a hurricane and are forced to seek shelter in an old motel along the Georgia coast. After a downed tree blocks the only motel exit, they find themselves stuck without power, cell service, or gasoline… but with a dead body.
